Are you an adult with autism, or do you have an adult with autism in your family? Perhaps you’re wondering what to do this summer. Here’s an opportunity for learning and fun, no matter what your level of ability!
Get the Goods on Nutrition is designed to help you or your favorite adult with autism begin to build skills for independence. You or your adult child with ASD will develop an understanding of healthy lifestyle and nutrition, meal planning, grocery shopping, food preparation and hosting.
Run by the
Centre for Autism Services Alberta, Get the Goods on Nutrition is open to people between 16 and 29 years of age with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. The course is open to all levels of ability.
Participants will be divided into four groups based on need, age and compatibility and will be assigned days within the dates of July 16 to Aug. 3. Each session features 6 half-days of programming as well as two full days at Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch, which will include workshops that cover self-worth, teamwork and leadership.
Cost is $150 per participant. Space is limited. This is the first in a series of teen and adult programming that is being developed by the Centre.
