About Us

Since 1971, Autism Edmonton (Autism Society of Edmonton Area) has been providing services and support to people in the community who are living with autism spectrum disorder. Autism Edmonton has become known as a "go-to" source that connects families, individuals and professionals with autism-related resources.

Autism Edmonton helps people navigate their options for services, find vital information, and develop skills and peer support through facilitated activity and discussion groups. Autism Edmonton works with people with autism across their lifespan and their support networks, including parents, siblings, and service providers. In 2020, Autism Edmonton provided 4,149 respite hours to families with children (7-18 years); delivered 3,000+ hours of navigation support to individuals and families and engaged with 5,123 people in various recreational and learning activities.

VISION: All people on the autism spectrum have a life full of possibilities.

MISSION: To enhance the lives of people on the autism spectrum, through knowledge, services and inclusive opportunities.

Acceptance: We welcome and embrace inclusivity and diversity of all people, ideas and perspectives in building community.

Integrity: We believe in mutual trust, honesty, transparency, and accountability amongst ourselves, allies and stakeholders.

Respect: We treat one another and all people with empathy, courtesy and kindness.
